Fo Hamblin is a multimedia artist combining such materials as resin,
metals and perspex. The use of fabric and thread within the context of other media is highly considered - as is the issue of lighting and its effect - throughout the entire creative process. Her work makes use of the photographic image, both for research purposes and often within the confines of finished pieces. She also draws strongly on influences from (predominantly silver) jewellery design; this frequently resulting in works in black and white. Human physiognomy has been a recent starting-point for the creation of costumes and wall-pieces, which are integrated into installation-based performance in collaboration with dancers and musicians, involving use of theatrical lighting.
